Introduction

With effect from the 14th January 2005, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) regulates the sale and administration of general insurance and pure protection contracts. Any insurer, intermediary or broker who wishes to transact general insurance or pure protection contracts must comply with the Conduct of Business rules as laid out by the FSA. As a company, the Asset Trust Group whole heartedly support this initiative and have made every effort to ensure we fully comply with the rules where required.

The parties to a contract of insurance covering a risk situated in the United Kingdom are permitted to choose the law applicable to the contract. All our policies are governed by English law. English law will also apply prior to conclusion of your contract of insurance.

How to Cancel – 14 day cooling off period

You have the right to cancel any policy purchased from us up to 14 days from commencement of cover. We will refund your money less a charge for the period you have been insured, unless your policy has been terminated following a claim in which case no refund will be due. We will not charge you an administration fee in connection with this cancellation. If you wish to cancel outside this period there will be no refund of premium available. The policy can only be transferred to another eligible vehicle for the scheme.

How to Make a Complaint

In the unlikely event that you are dissatisfied with our service in any way, we operate a comprehensive complaint handling service. In the first instance, please contact the person you originally dealt with. They will aim to resolve your complaint on the same day. Alternatively you can contact us:

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS)

We are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). You may be entitled to compensation from the scheme if we cannot meet our obligations. This depends on the type of business and the circumstances of the claim. Insurance advising and arranging is covered for 100% of the first £2,000 and 90% of the remainder of the claim, without any upper limit, except for compulsory insurance, which is covered for 100%. Further information about compensation can be obtained from the FSCS.
